Matthew is a Registered Nurse, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Laurentian University. Matthew also holds an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration with a Specialization in Human Resources Management from Algoma University.
Matthew has extensive work experience spanning multiple sectors. As a student, Matthew was a National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) certified coach for the Sault Ste. Marie Aquatic Club and a lifeguard for the City of Sault Ste. Marie and Elliot Lake. Matthew attained his Canadian Red Cross Standard First Aid Instructor Certification and his Canadian Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard Instructor Certifications. Additionally, Matthew completed a one-year work term as a Human Resources Assistant, in order to fulfill his business degree requirements.
Matthew draws from his experience across both the public and private sector to develop custom solutions for HSPI’s clients ranging from policy development, to training program development and delivery. Matthew integrates technology using innovative safety software packages to effectively merge health and safety into client business plans.
Matthew strives to combine the nursing process with business planning to create unique solutions that meet each of our customers’ needs from initial consultation and goal setting through to program implementation and evaluation. With over 10 years of training experience working with diverse student groups of all backgrounds and ability levels, Matthew can effectively tailor training to the level and style of his learner’s needs at all levels of organization from new and young workers to senior executives.
