Overview:
Building on the foundational knowledge acquired in JHSC Part One training, JHSC Part Two represents the final step towards completing your Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) Certification.
At Health & Safety Professionals Inc. (HSPI), we’ve developed a unique approach to deliver JHSC Part Two training. This approach involves a deep dive into a minimum of six hazards specific to your workplace.
We offer a selection of nine hazard topics, enabling you to select either a two-day or a three-day training program tailored to address the unique hazards within your working environment.
Each hazard covered in this training focuses on Recognition, Assessment, Control, and Evaluation of Hazard Controls, with an emphasis on the practical application of a Hazard Management Tool to address each hazard effectively.
Who Should Pursue JHSC Part Two Training?
Once you’ve successfully completed JHSC Part One, you’re eligible to take the JHSC Part Two training. It’s important to note that this training must be completed within one year of completing JHSC Part One.
We also welcome participants who have completed Part One training with other CPO-approved providers. To enroll in our Part Two courses, you’ll need to provide proof of Part One training, as it is a prerequisite.
Topics Covered in JHSC Part 2:
Our training program is structured over two or three days, with each day focusing on three hazard categories.
JHSC Part Two: Mining/Construction/Industrial Sectors; This two-day course is designed for workplaces with high-risk hazards and are regulated by the mining, construction, and industrial regulations.
JHSC Part Two: Healthcare/Public Services; This two-day course is specific to sectors that are public facing.
While only six hazards (two-days) are required, learners can choose a third day (additional three hazards) if requested by their workplace or as professional development.
We offer three different options for JHSC Part Two training based on your sector or industry, which are recommendations based on our industry knowledge.
However, the final decision on the best fit for your needs will be made collaboratively by your employer and your JHSC.
